Momentum is a series of four breakfast events and a continuation of the successful Momentum Summit conferences that Dublin Chamber has run since 2015. The aim of the series is to give Dublin Chamber members access to Dublin based start-ups and entrepreneurs that have successfully scaled their businesses. The focus of the events is on sharing learnings and insights.

Speaker

Mary Mckenna, Tour America

Tour America & Cruise Holidays are Ireland's no. 1 Tour Operator to the USA and seller of cruises worldwide. Tour America currently turns over €22m, has 50 staff, and offices in Dublin, Cork and Orlando. Tour America was set up by Mary from her sitting room and the company will be 25 years old in October.
 
Mary sits on many advisory boards including Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruise, NCL, and MSC cruises, and is on the CLIA board, which represents all cruise companies.  She also sits on the AIB SME advisory panel, and Brand USA which represents all the States of the USA.
Mary is involved with BIC Cork where she also mentors’ entrepreneurs.  
 
She completed the Leadership for Growth programme at IMD. Mary was a finalist in the EY entrepreneur of the year programme in 2018, while also being elected onto the Dublin Chamber Council in 2018.
 
Mary coaches both rugby and soccer, while also supporting many charities, in particular children's charities. 
 
Tour America have won many awards in 2019, the Deloitte Best Managed Company 11 years in Row, Best Travel Agent in Ireland, Best use of Social Media at the Sockies Award, the top award with all the suppliers in the USA (chairman's award 2019), and Mary won the overall award of Business Woman of the Year, Ireland and the UK at the recent Everywoman.  Tour America won Travel Agent of the year 2020 at the ITAA awards last week.

Mary recently was awarded the Alternative Board TAB member of the year 2019, and she recently received the Lifetime achievement award for 2019 from MSC cruises.

Aoife D’Arcy, Krisolis

Aoife has spent the last 16 years developing analytical models and processes for major national and international companies in banking, finance, insurance, gaming and manufacturing. Aoife has developed particular expertise in analytics strategy, customer insight analytics, fraud analytics, and risk analytics, along with training and mentoring those in graduate to C-Suite roles, and has given her a key insight into how organisations can successfully harness the insights available in their own data, and what they need to do to achieve this.
Aoife founded Krisolis in 2009 to pursue her passionate belief in the importance of developing in-house analytics talent in organisations. Aoife works with organisations to help them build world class analytics teams and processes through a unique mix of training, consultancy and mentoring.
Aoife is a co-author of the textbook "Fundamentals of Machine Learning for Predictive Data Analytics: Algorithms, Worked Examples & Case Studies" published in 2015 with MIT Press.
Aoife’s qualifications include a M.Sc. Financial and Industrial Mathematics from Dublin City University and an B.Sc. (Honours) Statistics and Computer Science from National University of Ireland, Maynooth.
