Dublin Chamber Welcomes New Guidance for SMEs Accessing Public Procurement Contracts

Tuesday 28th March 2023Dublin Chamber welcomes the recent announcement by Ministers Pascal Donohoe and Ossian Smyth of new guidance for SMEs when accessing public procurement contracts on the eTenders Platform.

Stephen Browne, Head of Public Affairs at Dublin Chamber said "Having engaged previously with both the Office of Government Procurement and the OECD, Dublin Chamber is glad to see that the streamlining of access for SMEs is now being brought to Cabinet. We are particularly glad to see the increases in threshold for advertising on eTenders increasing for goods and services to €50,000 and the threshold for works increasing to €200,000."

Mr. Browne continued "The changes to the threshold levels are intended to reduce the administrative burden and costs associated with tendering for lower-valued contracts which have not been updated since 2010. Taking in the rise in inflation, this is a timely and much-needed update."
