New Green Public Procurement Guidelines have been introduced by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), reflecting a strengthened commitment from the public sector to incorporate green and sustainable criteria in the tendering process. To remain competitive, businesses must engage with Green Public Procurement training, which is the first of its kind offered to the private sector. This training will be delivered by Bid Services through the Dublin Chamber Sustainability Academy.
Green Public Procurement (GPP) involves public authorities seeking to procure goods, services, or works that have a lower environmental impact throughout their lifecycle compared to conventional options. The Government's Climate Action Plan and the EU's Green Deal mandate that all public bodies adopt a climate-focused approach, with public procurement playing a crucial role in achieving these objectives.
As a result, it is essential for businesses to understand how GPP can influence their development strategies and ensure compliance with upcoming regulations. This training will provide participants with the necessary knowledge and tools to navigate the evolving landscape of sustainable procurement effectively.
