What is a Carnet?
A Carnet (an ATA or China Taiwan CPD Carnet) is an international customs and temporary export-import document. It is presented when entering a Carnet country with merchandise or equipment that will be re-exported within 12 months
What are Carnets used for?
Carnets are used for the temporary export of three types of goods to any of the other 80 signatory countries to the ATA and/or Istanbul Conventions:
- Commercial Samples
- Goods for Trade Fairs or exhibitions
- Professional Equipment
How Do I Apply for a Carnet?
To apply for an ATA or China Taiwan CPD Carnet please go to www.e-ata.ie and register for an account. A contract will be sent to you by e-mail. Once we have received the completed and signed contract we will be able to activate your account and you will then be able to use this simple on-line platform to apply for and manage all your carnet applications.
