Dublin Chamber extends a Céad Míle Fáilte to Navy and Notre Dame
+ A high profile policing plan must be in place to ensure visitors can enjoy Dublin to the full
Tuesday 22nd of August 2023: On Sunday the 26th of August one of the biggest sporting rivalries in American Football will take place in the Aviva Stadium. With 49,100 tickets for the game sold and over 39,000 fans coming directly from the US for the game, this is a great opportunity for Dublin and for Dublin Business.
Stephen Browne, Head of Public Affairs at Dublin Chamber said, “This event has long been a staple of the Dublin sporting calendar and we in Dublin Chamber are delighted to see so many American Football fans travelling from all over Ireland and from The United States.”
“This is not just a sporting occasion, it will also bring a large tourist contingent to Dublin, with many Dublin Businesses welcoming match goers from early in the week including bars, restaurants, hotels and cultural venues such as theatres hoping for a brisk trade.”
“While we are eagerly anticipating the buzz around Dublin for this game it will be vital that a high profile policing plan is also in place. In recent weeks we have seen the deterioration of safety in the city. We would urge Minister McEntee to engage with stakeholders on a more regular basis so that Dubliners and visitors can enjoy our city to the full”.
