Winter Aid request for Ukraine AURI

Back to Articles

By Chamber Press Office, 12 January 2023

This winter, millions of people in Ukraine are facing into a winter of extreme cold without heating or electricity, due to damage to the country's infrastructure. More than nine months of war has already exhausted supplies of food and medicine, and this already desperate situation has now been considerably worsened due to the targeting of electrical and heating infrastructure. Many families have needed to make homes from outbuildings or unsafe apartments with blown-out windows and bomb-damaged roofs. A normal Ukrainian winter typically sees four or more months of temperatures as low as -20C.

Now AURI are asking for your urgent assistance to enable buy more generators and warm winter clothing for the most vulnerable Ukrainian civilians in affected areas.  The Association of Ukrainians in Republic of Ireland is the only Irish Ukrainian registered charity in Ireland managed solely dedicated to supporting the humanitarian, cultural and educational needs of Ukrainians in both Ireland and Ukraine.
