Event Details

The roundtable discussion will be held online at 12pm on Friday, 31st March. The session will last approximately 60 minutes, and we hope to have a robust exchange of views and sharing of business experiences. The discussion will be based on your individual input and broadly framed by the following themes:

1. What changes should Government make to the tax system in Budget 2024? What taxes should be decreased or increased and why?

2. What areas of Government expenditure need greater attention or reform?

Date:
Fri 31 Mar 2023
Time:
12:00 PM - 01:00 PM
Venue:
Webinar, Dublin Chamber, . .
Last year, Dublin Chamber proposed:

1. Increases in childcare subsidies and changes in the tax system to increase labour supply and encourage second earners in a two-parent household to take up employment;

2. The introduction of a 20% Capital Gains Tax rate on disposals of investments in indigenous SMEs to boost investment in Irish enterprise;

3. Enhanced taxation on vacant land and the taxation on vacant properties to promote their more effective use; and

4. Continued increases in carbon tax and for the revenue to be ringfenced to provide investment in green infrastructure, public transport, and funds that will support communities and businesses to transition to green transport and heating alternatives.

We want to hear your feedback on what should be prioritised this year.
