In this four-part series, professional facilitators from The Alternative Board® (TAB) will present a bit of know-how from working with thousands of business owners globally for over 30 years and helping them survive and often thrive through multiple recessions. You will quickly move into roundtable discussions on future scenarios involving your customers, competitors, employees and other factors. 

Each attendee will raise discussion topics with the group. You will leave with ideas and concrete steps that you can take to prepare your business for whatever the future holds.

About our Mentors 

Brian Crowley,TAB, Dublin South  

  
Qualified Accountant (FCCA), Chartered Secretary, Institute of Bankers, IMI Dip in Executive Coaching, and a Diploma in Strategy, Innovation and Change at the Smurfit Business School UCD. He is an experienced, International Commercial Banker with a wide experience in leading teams across retail and corporate banking, and risk analytics at AIB.  He is a Social and Business Entrepreneur and Strategic Transformational Change Agent.Brian mainly coaches leaders and leadership teams in the public sector, not-for-profit and business owners.  He is a senior executive coach for 10 years and a regular contributor on coaching topics through his website www.briancrowleycoaching.ie . Brian became a certified TAB facilitator in 2014 and was the lead facilitator on the GS1 Ireland Strategic Transformation project.   
Brian is a long standing member of the Governing Council of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council in Ireland (EMCC),  a former Director of the Christina Noble Charitable Foundation and a past Vice President of Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Chamber of Commerce.  '' 
  
  
PJ Timmins ,MD ,TAB Ireland 

Qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PWC, a Smurfit Diploma in Corporate Governance, has been a member of various boards for over 33 years, across, software, property, retailing, healthcare and music industries in addition to not-for-profit organisations.  Former: President of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce, Chair of Ocuco Group (World’s most widely uses practice management systems for opticians), Dublin City Bid Company Ltd, and Retail Ireland and Euro Changeover Board’s cash change over working group.  Hi is currently a founder Director of O’Leary Opticians ltd, (Irelands largest Independent) He is a Non-Executive Director of Global Standards 1 (Ireland) and Audit Committee Chair. Also Chair of Youbloom PLC and Chair of Drinkaware.ie. In 2012 he led the restructuring of Clerys Department Store as CEO.  
In 2020 PJ was awarded the position of” Thought Leadership for Entrepreneurship” by the Business Allstars Awards. He has been a judge for Social Entrepreneurs for a number of years. He became a mentor to Inner City start-up enterprises over 30 years ago and is a member of the Bloom Syndicate of the Halo Business Angel Network.  PJ brought The Alternative Board to Ireland in 2013 as the TAB Master when Ireland became the fourth country outside North America. He has been part of the advisory team on the development of TAB’s online strategic tools for the past 5 years. TAB is now in 21 countries across the world.  

Martin Kelly ,TAB, Dublin South  

Martin has had many senior Leadership roles in the technology industry across Europe, US, Australia and Asia. Qualified with an MBA from Macquarie University in Sydney, he completed a Strategic Leadership Program from Harvard, a BA from UCD and is a Smurfit Business School Graduate in Business and Executive Coaching. 
Martin has led in start-ups and small businesses and well as global corporations. He has acted as a Management Consultant with Deloitte, established the SAP Consulting Group of GE Capital IT solutions, was General Manager of Health Ireland, and World-Wide Vice President of Information Technology at Citrix where he established the European operations at its inception. Martin was a Non-Executive Director of IQuate, leaders in discovery and service mapping for cloud migration and hybrid IT.  Martin’s transformational leadership style is about enabling good people to become extraordinary and facilitating their businesses to grow exponentially. 
  
Frank Keogh, MD TAB ,Dublin Southwest 
  
Frank has over 30 years’ experience in Sales and Marketing at Director level from FMCG to Healthcare and B2B sectors. Frank has led sales forces in Ireland’s distribution sector, for both multinationals and indigenous companies. 
In 1999 Frank was part of the MBO leadership team of Allegro Professional, a leading commercial distributor of hygiene products to the industry. At the end of 2000 Frank sold the business to Bunzl PLC and continued working in the business until 2009 when he set up Vescoro Ltd whose client list included Dunnes Stores, Tesco, Esso, Spar Mace and SUPERVALU. Frank held many roles including Commercial Director and Sales & Marketing Director. He has significant experience in structured finance, facilities procurement, commercial negotiations, management of distribution partnerships and cultural transformations.  Frank became a certified TAB facilitator in 2015                  

Ciaran O’Brien, TAB, Dublin North   

Ciaran’s business career spans more than 30 years, working in both SME and large corporations.  He has an MA from Manchester University and is an ICF accredited trained Executive and Life Coach. His background is in the professional services sector and has held senior roles in the transport, logistics and vehicle hire industry.  His most recent role was Group Operations Director at Europcar Ireland where he was part of the team that built the business over ten years from €5m to €65m until sold back to Europcar Group. He was then appointed to the European Operations Board at group level before exiting and starting his own executive coaching business. 
  
Ciaran leads the Alternative Board in North Dublin providing coaching and peer advisory group facilitation. He is a recognised exceptional problem solver and leverages his broad experience in leadership, operations, sales and strategic management to help business owners solve their most important challenges. Ciaran’s passion is in helping Leaders develop a clear strategy that achieves their business and life goals in a positively challenging and confidential environment. His interests are in high-performance leadership and teams and is a senior performance analyst with Naomh Mearnog Senior Footballers.  
  
Pat Duffy, MD TAB ,Midlands 

Pat is a qualified industrial engineer and has over 32 years’ experience in senior roles in global leading businesses including Ericsson. He has exceptional international experience having lived and worked overseas for 12 years in Asia, Middle East and Europe. His roles have included technical sales management, key account management, regional operations director, global customer support director and most recently executive director of consulting. While Pat’s technical skills have been developed in the telecommunications, software development and IT world, his key area of interest and focus for many years has been working with SME’s and startups. 
Pat now leads TAB Boards in the Midlands Region where he and his family are based since 2016.
