Event Details
The Employment Permits Act 2024, which came into effect last September, introduced several key reforms aimed at resolving the inflexibilities of the previous employment permit system. Among its notable changes, the Act introduced:
• Seasonal Employment Permits
• A revision of the burdensome labour market needs test
• Additional grounds for granting an employment permit
In the context of Ireland’s tight labour market, record levels of employment and a growing skills shortage, Dublin Chamber wants to better understand the practical experiences of businesses navigating the employment permit system. Your insights will help ensure we lobby effectively on your behalf and support your business in accessing its talent needs.
Time:
12:00 PM - 01:00 PM
Venue:
Webinar, Dublin Chamber, . .
We invite you to join us for a roundtable discussion online at 12pm on Friday, 11th July. The session will last approximately 60 minutes, and we hope to have a robust exchange of views and sharing of business experiences. Discussion will be based on your individual input and broadly framed by the following themes:
1) Is the current employment permit system effective and easily navigable in meeting the needs of your business?
2) Are the Critical Skills Occupations List and Ineligible List of Occupations reflective of the needs of businesses and the current labour market?
3) Are you satisfied with the Employment Permit Act 2024? Do you have any key asks of Government or recommendations that would improve the current employment permit system and support your firm in meeting the skills and labour needs of your business?
Please register your interest in participating by emailing events@dublinchamber.ie. Attendance will be limited, so the remaining participant list will be filled on a first come first served basis.
