Event Details
From 1 July to 31 December 2026, Ireland will assume the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The Government is currently consulting with domestic stakeholders on the development of Ireland’s Presidency priorities, and Dublin Chamber will be contributing to this process.
To support our work, we invite you to join a roundtable discussion taking place online at 12 pm on Friday, 21st November. This session will provide an opportunity for you to share your business’s observations and suggestions on how Ireland can best fulfil its Presidency role, as well as help identify the policy areas that deserve particular attention during this period.
The session will last approximately 60 minutes, and discussions will be based on your individual input and broadly framed by the following questions:
Q1. What should Ireland choose as the high-level priorities for its Presidency of the Council in 2026?
Q2. Which particular policy areas and legislative proposals should be a focus of work for the Irish Presidency of the Council in 2026? What should the Irish Presidency aim to achieve in these areas?
Q3. How can the work of the Council during the term of the Irish Presidency make the most substantial positive impact for people, businesses and communities across the EU?
Q4. How can the Government best communicate the values and benefits of EU membership to its citizens and create a sense of ownership, amongst citizens, over Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the EU?
Please register your interest in participating by emailing events@dublinchamber.ie. Attendance will be limited, so the remaining participant list will be filled on a first-come first-served basis.
